Ears

Ears was created for the 2019 edition of the 48h Neukölln Festival in Berlin and was exhibited at the SUB TEI Gallery. The project simply asked passersby to contribute a song, a story, a poem, a melody, a secret, a question, and answer, or a noise. These contributions were gradually mixed together and chopped into smaller and smaller slices. Some sounds disappeared almost immediately, while others lingered for days. The installation also pickup fragments of conversation, laughter, and music from throughout the gallery. By mixing and chopping things together, beautiful sonic moments occurred organically - at one point I heard a three part harmony formed accidentally by three different people singing at different moments.
